When I tried it out in singleplayer (same seed) it worked fine, but when I built it on the server it didn't work/was very slow. I've already looked around a bit on the internet but didn't find anything that works. I'll list some things I've already checked/tried: - The world is made after snapshot 20w17a (it's made in 1.16.5)
but here's the good news: you don't need all that obsidian to start. just start with one or two 23 x 23 portals. get the farm started. get more obsidian. add two or four more portals. get the farm optimized. work on your storage system. add two or four more portals. get the farm finalized. then add the final portals when you want/need to.
Mob/XP Farm in 1.18. I've watched a few videos on AFK mob farms, but I'd like to build one to get XP too. I built one using the advice from some older resources, but I don't think it is very well optimized. Based on the new rules for mob spawning the mob platform has to be 24 blocks away from the player, the mobs should fall 22 blocks.
Uses of Entity Cramming in MinecraftA large number of Minecraft cows in a modified mob farm. Image via Minecraft. Entity cramming's primary use is to keep Minecraft running smoothly. But this doesn't mean that Minecraft players aren't able to use it in-game. Players can use entity cramming to kill mobs quickly and efficiently in-game.
This NEW DESIGN will get you from 0 to 30 levels in JUST 7 MINUTES. You can build this mob xp farm in the first 5 days in your world. It takes less than 30 m
It will work just fine if you rebuild it with the bottom of the drop tube more than 128 blocks away from spawnable areas. Build at around y200 over an ocean. It's gonna be slow but the solution is to use full blocks for the roof, slabs let light through. Not sure though!
2. [deleted] • 9 yr. ago. XP farms are semi-simple, find a mob spawner, put water pushing it into a one block hole, maybe in the middle, and then look up the specific mob to see how much fall damage makes it half a heart point, and then make a drop that big with a one wide hole there and punch them :P. After most of the comments on my tutorial for ilmango's Minecraft Gold/XP Farm asking about servers, here is how to fix the problem of the XP not flowing tow
